The basic system consists of a main controller including I/O cards and dual power supplies, a hardwired emergency unit including a separate tone generator and a number of 400 W Class D amplifiers covering the amount of effect needed. The emergency unit retains operation if the main controller fails. Total reliability is achieved by duplicating systems.
The Phontech 1700 system has all the functions necessary to facilitate this. In addition, several microphone operator stations combine programmable tactile feedback buttons and programmable 7 inch touch screens. Finally a 15 inch touch panel configuration unit mounted in one of the electronic racks. Microphone operator stations can be delivered as desktop units or 19 inch rack-mount units.
